Alderman Tunney's Annual Kids Bike Parade

Children and Parents: come celebrate the dog days of summer and participate in Alderman Tunney’s Annual Kids Bike Parade! Please come to the 1000 Block of George at Noon with a decorated bike and a helmet. Mayor Daley’s Bike Ambassadors will be on-hand to present helpful safety tips. Children will receive a ribbon, a bike light and back-to-school supplies.

After the parade, please stay for the Central Lakeview Neighbors' Annual Block Party. There will be children’s games, a fire truck from the City, a jumping jack from 3:00 - 6:00pm and food will be served from 4:00 - 8:00pm.

The Bicycle Film Festival is a celebration of bicycles through film, art and music. It starts next week on Wednesday August 12th-16th at Columbia College. For more information, schedule, and tickets go to: http://www.bicyclefilmfestival.com/?p=chicago

The Chicago Criterium Bike Race is this Sunday July 26, 2009 at Buckingham Fountain starting at 7am. If anyone needs to rent a road bike, Bike and Roll Chicago has them available to you, either call 312-729-1000 or go online at http://bikechicago.com to reserve one today!

The Tour de Fat will once again be meandering and pandering to Chicago spreading the good word about the positive societal offerings of the bicycle and donating to a local non-profit. Along with our exceptional ability to roust a city's inner-cyclist, in 2009 we hope to drive our message even deeper by bringing you a show of one lucky Chicagoan who will trade their car for a gloriously hand built commuter bicycle.
